Resisting Collusion & Motivating Change: Working with Men who use Intimate Partner Violence

This training equips professionals to identify, understand, and resist invitations to collude with men who use family violence. Fully aligned with MARAM, this program strengthens your practice by combining practical strategies with reflective learning.

Walk Alongside Me: Safe and Respectful ways of working with Survivors of Coercive Control

This training equips practitioners with the knowledge, tools, and reflective skills to walk alongside survivors of coercive control safely, respectfully, and ethically. Combining evidence-based theory with practical application, this program supports professionals to respond effectively while prioritising safety and wellbeing.

  • Define and recognise coercive control behaviours

  • Both our online training packages are suitable for anyone whose role requires them to work with survivors of, or adults who use, Family Violence. It is MARAM- aligned, but seeks to create additional skills in Family Violence response, which go beyond, but are also essential to, effective risk assessment.

  • Our online sessions (available as fee-for-service inputs, or individuals via our public training offerings) are delivered via Zoom, with access details emailed to participants three working days prior to the session.

    Designed to be highly interactive and engaging, the training incorporates a range of learning approaches, including:

    • Small group breakout activities

    • PowerPoint presentations

    • Case studies to support practical application of learning

    • Trainer demonstration videos

    The program is grounded in adult learning principles and aligned with the MARAM Framework, ensuring content is both relevant and practice-focused.

  • Participants will receive a comprehensive Participant Guide Book to support their learning throughout the day. This resource includes key information, tools, and materials to strengthen practice beyond the training.

    After the session, participants are also provided with links to relevant websites and academic articles, particularly focused on working with men who use violence, or survivors of Family Violence, to further deepen knowledge and support ongoing professional development.

  • Yes. This training is designed for professionals who already have a foundational understanding of family violence.

    Participants are expected to have completed relevant prior training within the last two years, such as:

    • Identifying Family Violence: Responding to Victim Survivors

    • Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) training

    • Or an equivalent program for those working outside of Victoria

    This ensures participants are well prepared to engage with the more advanced concepts and practice approaches explored throughout the training.

  • For our public training sessions, registration fees are fully refundable up to 7 days prior to the training date. After this time, refunds are not available. 

    If you have booked a fee-for-service input, details of our cancellation policy can be found in your service agreement, issued at time of booking. 

    Please contact us to arrange any ticket transfers, but please be aware these are approved at our discretion, especially if the cancellation time has passed.
