Testimonials
Found the training very engaging and informative. I feel it has affirmed some of the practices I am doing, but also challenged practices in other areas. I can default to defending men and this training confronted me at times - but that’s why I did the training. Thank you for a very well presented training
I got so much out of this training. Kelly is an engaging and highly experienced trainer, and I really appreciated her knowledge, guidance and expertise. Working with men who use violence is a hard space - and I really valued Kelly’s pragmatic, non-judgmental and victim/survivor-centred approach to supporting men to change their behaviour. I am new to the DFSV sector and this training really opened my eyes as to how much learning I still need to do. I feel inspired to put into practice what I learned during this training and use the resources Kelly generously collated and provided.
We found the training incredibly useful and very applicable to the work that we do with families. I had lots of staff letting me know how great they found the information and resources discussed.
What a rich professional development opportunity. It left me really thinking and processing a lot of wonderful ideas and information. I found this training approachable, gorgeous facilitators who really know their stuff and share so generously. Thank you for developing something so valuable, I know I will be a better practitioner having done this!
Restorative Justice Practitioner
You are both so incredibly knowledgeable and articulate, it was such an engaging training and I felt like I learnt so many new things and ways to speak about FV as well as respond to it in our work. It was really wonderful to see such experienced practitioners in their element!
All the additional resources were wonderful as well. Thanks so much!
Children and Young Person’s Counsellor (VIC)
People from my team [homelessness service] were all talking about how great the training was (a colleague even said it was the best training she'd ever done!!). I also thought everything was so relevant and thought provoking, but also very practical and digestible.
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and for keeping us all engaged over a remote training - not an easy feat! I admire the work you’ve done and continue to do in this field. Looking forward to applying the skills you shared in my interactions with PUVs.
Forensic Intervention Services psychologist, DJCS
I would definitely recommend this training to my colleagues. The insights gained and practical strategies provided are essential for effectively working with men who use intimate partner violence, and I believe this training can significantly enhance their practice as well.
Orange Door Practitioner
I really liked unpacking this word “collusion” and exploring the reasons a man invites us to and what to do when we inadvertently collude.
